Etching Inks, ground and varnish
Charbonnel etching ink used stand oil as its binder and contain on additives. The adhesion and thickness of an ink is measured by its viscosity and can be reduced by linseed oil which will make wiping easier. The opacity or transparency of a Charbonnel color will vary depending on the pigment used. This characteristic is very important for the creation of work with serveral plates. The colors can be kept for years in their cans or tubes. If the greaseproof paper in the can is damaged, replaced another to prevent the upper layer of paint drying.
Etching Grounds - main components of the grounds are Judea bitument, waxes, dammar, mastic resin, turpentine, quick drying petroleum , colophony, and pitches. Charbonnel hard black ball ground is made up of Judea bitumen and wax. Lamour hard black ball ground is made from Judea bitumen, dammar resin and wax. It is not as hard as hard black ball ground. Soft black ball ground component consist of Judea bitumen, pitch resin , tallow and beewax, is used to protect the plate, they are non-drying grounds .
Lamour black satin varnish allows a long etching time with no risk of scaling. It dries faster than Ultraflex due to the presence of quick drying petroleum and is harder than Ultraflex.

Dry points are effective and flexible in adding details or tone of a linear burr type. The line is created as the dry point or needle is dragged or drawn over the plate.
Etching needles has wooden handle and comes in various shapes. It may be used for etching, lithography, film touch up and stippling.
Mezzotint Rockers comes in standard size from 1/2" to 6"wide. The gauge sizes are course, medium and fine.
Roulettes are like rockers and comes in straight, curved and irregular styles and have gauge size of course, medium and fine.
Pfeil has linoleum tools available in set of 6 and has the same high quality as basic carving tools.
